When's the right time to get a life policy?
Updated: Dec 31, 2022

Have you ever considered buying life insurance but decided to put it off until you had more time to think about it?
Yes! I know what you’re thinking-ugh! What a downer convo right? But, it’s a convo that needs to be addressed so you don’t have to worry about morning and figuring out where a check is coming from.
Have you thought that a policy could be the beginning of generational wealth?
That it could completely change the trajectory of your family's future?
Perhaps you think that you're too young and you don’t need one?
Maybe you think it’s intended for individuals with families?
Or perhaps you have one at your workplace?
Several of these have occurred to me in the last few days.
Nobody, on the other hand, ever took the time to explain the importance of life insurance to me even with these things in place. It is a serious subject, but it does not receive a lot of attention.
Not to mention the different types and which ones are best for you and possibly your family members. It is true that "it takes a village to raise a child," but it shouldn’t take a “village” to bury you. I know, seems a little blunt, but it’s the truth. If someone shared it with me and put things in perspective, I would’ve gotten a policy a lot sooner.
Instead, it’s usually talked about bypassing the conversation that you should get a life policy. Insurance is designed to reduce financial risk while also making unexpected losses more manageable for those who are insured.
As a result, do you believe that your income would be important if something were to happen to you?
Do you think buying a life insurance policy would make your family less financially vulnerable in the future?
Nobody ever bothered to explain any of those things to me.
I went to a doctor's appointment when I was pregnant with my 1st born and I was told I couldn’t leave the hospital.
I was completely healthy before the appointment and when I went, I wasn’t able to leave. I had a medical condition called preeclampsia. He arrived six weeks earlier than expected. Nobody ever suggested I get a life insurance policy for any reason.
Even after health issues with my second child, nothing was ever mentioned. I was UPSET that no one sat down with me!
What if it was worse? I wish someone would’ve shared the importance with me, especially when I was younger.
If you're still in your twenties, you should think about getting life insurance. Now, I’m not saying to have an Aretha Franklin policy lol just know as you get older, your chances of qualifying for one decrease, and the cost of one rises due to increased health-related risks.
Even if you do not have your own family, you are not entitled to a free burial.
The bill is the responsibility of Kin's heirs and executors. Is there any money set aside by your family for you?
Will they have to create a GoFundMe page to raise the funds?
You should have a life insurance policy in addition to your job insurance policy. Although having a life insurance policy through your employer is a benefit, your employer has the right to cancel it at any time, putting you and your family in jeopardy.
The moral of the story is that if you care about someone in your life, you should think about purchasing a life insurance policy for them.
